8:00 AM - 10:50 PM
96 hours and 10 minutes to go.
As early as now it's apparent that my attempt to blog daily about my OJT has gone to hell, but life goes on. I'm too lazy now to write properly, so here are some bullet points of some of the important things that happened last Friday:
- So the objective was to shoot "behind the scenes" footage of a photo/video shoot for Blue Water Day Spa, including a short interview with the company's new endorsers, Karylle and Akihiro Sato. Basically this meant making epal around the production team as they did they work, as well as finding just the right time to ambush Karylle and Akihiro to get an interview in the middle of their busy schedule.
- I've resolved not to bring a car starting hereon, since there's nowhere in Greenhills I can park for at least 9 hours daily that isn't ridiculously expensive. Went instead by bus and met the other interns at 8 AM in Blue Water Day Spa in Ortigas Avenue, near Greenhills Shopping Center, where there was plenty of free parking space. Oh well.
- Went inside to find that no one stuck to the supposedly 7-8 AM call time except a few production assistants. But life goes on. Spent some time exploring the spa (the movie theater foot massage room was awesome), waiting around and finalizing our interview questions. The rest of the production team arrived some time later.
- Started actual work by filming the endorsers as they were getting their make-up done in a small, cramped dressing room occupied by about a dozen other people as well. Made the work exciting by looking for different interesting camera angles.
- Spent pretty much forever tagging behind the production team as they moved to different locations in the building as called for by the shot list. Managed to get a lot of footage, get to know my co-interns more, as well as get to interact with the other people involved in the project. One of them turned out to be the cousin of an org mate from BlueRep, who recognized me from All Shook Up.
- One of the locations was the movie theater, which required a lot of seats to be occupied. Two of my co-interns and I (one had to stay behind to keep filming) ended up as extras, complete with a free foot massage, a movie, and popcorn and iced tea. Hands down, the best part of the day.
- Unfortunately, some parts of the shoot were closed-door, which we weren't allowed to document. We instead spent the time doing a bunch of things including getting food, chat ting with the other workers, and watching movies.
- Akihiro took forever to interview, due to his English, although he was a really good sport about it.
- Although the day took forever and it was tiring, I suppose it was a pretty fun experience.
- Stupid practicum portfolio.
